The Boogie Woogie Troop are a piano trio that play a steaming set of good time piano grooves. Influenced by the New Orleans piano sounds of Dr John, Professor Longhair, and James Booker the troop boogie, swing and shuffle their way along, breaking off into rock and roll classics and the occasional rag along the way.

You are warmly invited to drink and jive your way through the evening while the piano rolls along.

The troop is made up of three highly experienced professional players… Matthew Gest (piano), Sam Walker (drums) and Jim Mortimore (bass) have all worked in some of the worlds top recording studios with leading international artists.

Although they are occasionally joined by friends and fellow musicians who boogie along with them on Saxaphones/Lap Steels, Guitars and Trumpets, the tight trio means they adapt comfortably into any setting large or small and infuse it with the rattling of a piano.

The trio play a mix of well known classics and original tunes often bringing the most sedate audiences to their feet. Delivered with jubilant energy as well as considerable technical skill, their set will please the dancers, the thinkers, the sober and the drinkers!
