A collective of top gambian percussionists led by master drummer Musa Mboob. Son of renowned master percussionist Doudou Mboob, Musa soon followed in his fathers footsteps, being awarded a certificate of recognition as the No 1 Percussionist in The Gambia after his performinace at the Gambian Cultural festival in 1988. His drumming ensemble Mboob Mbalahal is a powerhouse of rhythm, energy and pure talent.
Professional percussionist, singer and dancer Musa was already very popular in West Africa when in 1990 he joined Ifang Bondi and toured throughout Europe, following which he was invited to England by DB Music to record an album MBoob MBalahal.
Musa has recorded and performed with many artists and bands, including Ifang Bondi, Boka Halat, and Ubizo and now has his own original West African band featuring Ousman Beyai called XAmxAm. His drumming band Mboob Mbalahal is often accompanied by exciting Gambian tribal dance company Simba.
